DEBBI GITTERMAN, RYT-500

Debbi is an experienced yoga instructor and certified yoga therapist (RYT-500 with Yoga Alliance) who began her journey on the mat 20 plus years ago.

Debbi believes firmly in the healing power of yoga. Her goal is to empower practitioners to take control of their own health and well being through movement, attention to breath, and meditation. Her expertise lies in making yoga accessible for every body: demystifying poses, simplifying breath work, and making meditation accessible, all with humor and compassion.

Stress, anxiety, fear, depression, trauma, have a sneaky way of manifesting themselves in the body, often causing physical pain. Whether the pain is chronic or acute or somewhere in between, yoga can offer a way to find relief. The physical aspect of yoga, asana, can provide a way to manage pain.

Asana is also powerful in that it can be a foot in the door to access the underlying psycho-social causes of pain. Pranayama, breath work, acts as an equally potent tool to calm the central nervous system. Factor in meditation, and the yoga trifecta is complete.

  • Weekly: Rise-and-Shine slow flow - Fridays 9-10 am in the Sault Haus

The class is designed to get your blood pumping, your body flexible, your mind sharp, all with an eye on creating balance — physical AND otherwise. Asana is linked + fluid within the basic framework of sun salutations. Use of props is strongly recommended (bring mats+straps, blocks are provided), as well as a working knowledge of basic poses. All levels welcome!

  • Monthly: Moving with the Seasons Yoga + Salt Cave relaxation , monthy Sundays 4:30-6 pm.

  • Restorative Yoga in the salt cave, Tuesday, May 7, 7-8 pm

  • Private yoga sessions in the Sault Haus

Private lessons start with communication: together, the practitioner and Debbi identify goals that are attainable, and they craft a plan that can be done at home or incorporated into classes. The intention is that the practitioner leaves each session with more knowledge. How many are necessary? It depends on what is being sought!

WHY DEBBI? She breaks it down so that the work is manageable and easy to understand, therefore easy to do. Debbi has a breadth of experience and depth of knowledge; she understands that each individual has a different story housed in their body, their mind, their spirit. She is passionate about helping her students find balance, harmony, and healing. The sessions are $150 and can be booked directly with Debbi via email. Check out Debbi’s website here.

Debbi will support you ;-)

NANCY PEREZ, RT, E-RYT

Nancy discovered yoga while in search of supportive tools for patients with cardiac and pulmonary chronic conditions. As a Respiratory Therapist, she believed that patients could benefit from a practice that could bridge the gap where traditional medicine leaves off and everyday life begins.

The restorative and meditative aspects of yoga also helped Nancy cope with the loss of her mother to breast cancer. Yoga has provided unmatched opportunities to emerge empowered and supported through mindful movement and integrative breathwork.

Nancy believes that the lessons we learn on the mat help us navigate everyday life with grace and equanimity-a reflection of the body’s desired harmony and balance. She hopes to facilitate a lifestyle practice that supports sustainable change. Nancy also teaches at Gratitude Yoga in Princeton. Off the mat, Nancy is a Respiratory Therapist and Medical Massage Therapist.

  • Monthly: Candlelight Restorative Yin Yoga, twice a month, Thursdays 7-8 pm in the salt cave

This quiet contemplative practice supports the loving, slower concepts of yoga & focuses on the relatively stiff deeper layers of connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, fascia ) to encourage healing, fluidity & flexibility of joints. Designed mostly with ground postures: the body will experience deep & longer-held stretching while enveloped by the soft glow of the salt cave. No prior experience needed.

TARA BANE, RYI

Tara has been practicing Kundalini Yoga for over 22 years. She relied on the healing aspects of KY when she experienced the tragic death of her husband in 2001. The benefits of her Kundalini Yoga practice led her to complete her 200-hour teacher training in 2014. She trained with Mahan Rishi and Nirbhe Kaur of Khalsa Healing Arts Center in Yardley, PA. She has been sharing her knowledge by teaching Kundalini Yoga ever since. In 2016 she received additional training from Shakta Kaur Khalsa, to teach yoga to children and created the YogaKids Club. Tara is also a practicing Art Therapist of 27 years; incorporating yoga and breath work has become part of her private practice modalities to help others heal, grow and find peace within themselves.

  • Weekly: Kundalini Yoga, Wednesdays 9:30-10:40am in the salt cave

An uplifting blend of spiritual and physical practices, kundalini yoga incorporates movement, dynamic breathing techniques, meditation, and the chanting of mantras. The goal is to build physical vitality and increase consciousness. No previous experience required.

ERIN MARSZ

Erin is a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor who has studied with a wide range of teachers including Sat Jivan Singh at Kundalini Yoga East in New York City. She is also a certified Qoya teacher, a practice for women focused on embodied movement.

  • Weekly: Kundalini Yoga Tuesdays, 9:30-10:40 am in the salt cave

  • Monthly: Yoga Nidra with Gong Sound Immersion 7-8pm in the salt cave

Yoga Nidra, aka ‘yogic sleep’, is a guided form of meditation that takes you to a point just above sleep and anyone can do it. As you drop deeper into the meditation, the body begins to soften in all ways & your awareness drops to the deepest delta brainwave state. In this most restorative state, the body releases serotonin, oxytocin & human growth hormone, cortisol levels decrease, chronic pain is soothed & depression and anxiety are reduced.

  • Monthly: Full Moon Kundalini Dance Parties: Indoors/Outodoors (seasonal) + gong sound immersion in the salt cave, 7-8:30 pm. Celebrate the monthly theme of the Full Moon: activate through Qoya dance, a gratitude practice, and kundalini yoga to tap into the inner wisdom and wildness of your heart and being.

  • Private Kundalini Sessions in the salt cave at $125 or $500 for a package of 5. Sessions are 70 minutes and tailored to individual needs. Email Erin to book.
